IES Abroad Beijing: Language Intensive

» General Information

Location:

Beijing, China (Population: 15 million)

Description:

With small classes, a high-quality language curriculum, daily tutorials, and a Center-wide language pledge, this program option offers students who have already begun Chinese language studies the opportunity to rapidly expand their knowledge of spoken and written Chinese.  In addition, students take up to two area studies courses taught in English or Chinese and have the option of participating in a for-credit internship.  Courses incorporate extensive field trips and travel directly into the curriculum.

Both this program and the IES Abroad Beijing: Contemporary Issues program are located on the campus of the Beijing Foreign Studies University (Beijing Waiguoyu Daxue). Popularly known as Bei Wai, this university is one of Beijing's most highly regarded academic institutions.
