This program is designed for students interested in exploring a wide variety of subjects on Czech culture and society including history, media, art, religion, literature, and politics. Participants take a required Czech language class, CIEE courses, and have the option of directly enrolling in classes at Charles University or FAMU, Central Europe's preeminate film school (however, see important note below about courses not being transferable if worth less than 2 semester credits).  For-credit internships are also available with local NGOs.

Courses worth less than 2 semester credits are not eligible to transfer back to Northwestern; read Credit Enrollment requirements for information about maintaining a full-time course load while abroad. Admission Info:

To apply, Northwestern students must:

  1. Complete an NU Study Abroad Application by the appropriate deadline
  2. Complete a CIEE application by the program's deadline

Czech homestay, a Charles University dormitory, CIEE-administered residence or CIEE-administered apartments. Meal plans vary by housing selection.
