Location: Paris, France


In this exchange program students enroll directly at École Polytechnique and take classes together with local and other international students. École Polytechnique is a world-class educational and research institution, located approximately 30 minutes from the center of Paris. The university has been educating the French scientific, industrial and political elite since the time of the Revolution. Northwestern students have the option of studying abroad for a semester or full academic year. Students pay Northwestern tuition and are responsible for travel and all other expenses (including room and board).

Language Requirements: 

  • 2 years or the equivalent of college-level French with the ability to do coursework in French.
  • Students must meet with Professor Margaret Dempster in the Department of French in order to assess their language skills prior to application.
