Tips for Earning Major/Minor Economics Credit Abroad
- Pick up an economics study abroad credit form from an economics adviser or at Anderson 303.
- Take the completed pre-approval form to any economics adviser during office hours; s/he will look at the description and decide whether or not to pre-approve the class for credit. The economics department will grant up to a maximum of two economics credits for one term abroad (if you take two econ classes), and up to four for a full year abroad (again, assuming that you take four part-year economics classes or two full year econ classes). If you take a long spring term and takes three economics classes, we will grant three economics credits.
- Return the signed form to Anderson 303.
- Figure out which courses you want to take at NU when you return from study abroad. This is necessary because not all courses are offered every quarter.
- Upon return to NU, pick up the original form, fill out the final approval side, attach a transcript, have an advisor sign it, and return the form to Anderson 303. The form will be sent to your grade auditor at the registrar and will be recorded as economics credit.
