About Northwestern Study Abroad
Some of the primary work that we do to help students in the study abroad process includes:
- Evaluate and monitor programs.
- Develop and implement a variety of educational programs, including:
- The Study Abroad Fair,
- Program-specific information sessions,
- Pre-departure events,
- Returnee roundtable discussions.
- Choose the study abroad program that best meets their educational needs,
- Make the most of their time abroad, and
- Continue to learn from and utilize their study abroad experiences once they return.
- Work with Northwestern faculty and administrators to clarify and streamline study abroad materials and policies.
- Provide informational materials on study abroad for students, faculty, and administrators.
- Advise students on an individual basis.
- Discuss study abroad and related issues with parents and guardians.
- Maintain contact as needed with all students abroad.
- Facilitate credit transfer once students return to campus.
