Kassie Blanchard - Class of 2017

Kassie Blanchard - 2017 (Collaboration)


Kassie is being recognized for her pursuit to promote women’s leadership. As an integral part of the leadership team for Women in Leadership, Kassie has worked closely with the Leadership and Community Engagement Office to restructure the program to better fit the needs of women leaders at Northwestern. Kassie also currently serves as the ASG VP for B-Status Finances, where she has been a leader in the conversation regarding open membership and funding allocations for student organizations.

Kathy Hong - Class of 2016

Kathy Hong - 2016 (Stewardship)


Kathy is being recognized for her work to make Panhellenic Association (PHA) more financially inclusive. As a two-term PHA Vice President of Administration, Kathy worked to develop a financial matrix to increase transparency surrounding the costs of joining an organization and outline opportunities for scholarships. She also established a relationship with the NU Quest Scholars Network to engage in conversation about access and barriers to involvement, as well as partnered with the Office of Financial Aid and Alumni Relations and Development to inform a robust and confidential scholarship program for sorority chapter dues.

Social Justice

Joanne is being recognized for her dedication to social justice, mediating conflict, and celebrating difference across campus. As a graduate assistant for Multicultural Student Affairs, Joanne planned JubilAsian for Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month and added several new events. Joanne a monthly Solidari-Tea event for Asian Pacific Islander Desi American students and also partnered with Counseling and Psychological Services to help address mental health concerns within the APIDA community.

Brian Liu - Class of 2017

Brian Liu - 2017 (Innovation)


Brian is being recognized for his involvement with St. Baldrick’s at Northwestern. As the organization’s founder, Brian helped to raise more than $10,000 for pediatric cancer through the now-annual head shaving event. Brian is also the co-president of Relay for Life at Northwestern, where he revamped the organization’s registration week. Above all, Brian educated his peers about cancer research in innovative ways and tirelessly encouraged others to make a difference through advocacy and fundraising.

Bahareh Poureslami - Graduate Student

Bahareh Poureslami - Graduate Student (Integrity)


Bahareh is being recognized for her role as the founder of Soul Sounds, an interfaith musical event to benefit and raise awareness for the Syrian refugee crisis. A Master’s student in Bienen, Bahareh showed exceptional integrity as she worked closely with Religious & Spiritual Life staff, her peers, musicians, and community members to create a diverse and personal philanthropic event.

Dwight White - Class of 2016

Dwight White - 2016 (Integrity)


Dwight is being recognized for his commitment to fostering collaboration and community across Greek councils on campus. As president of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Dwight was an ambassador of chapter and council identities. Dwight also served within the National Pan-Hellenic Council’s Council of Presidents and was a group facilitator at the Greek Leadership Retreat. Dwight is a student athlete and artist in his spare time, and he exhibits integrity and thoughtfulness in everything he does.
