Introduction to Meeting
Welcome to the group and we appreciate the participation. Our goal for these monthly group meetings is to provide training, resources, information and guidance so that each department will have all the support to maintain and enhance their websites. We encourage everyone to attend as many meetings as possible.
- The minutes from each our WCUG meetings are posted as a resource to you to review our discussions.
- Dr. Lesley Ann Brown's Inclusion site has been launched successfully but it is still under review.
- Working on a few other sites, SIGP, Vice President's Office, CSI
- Provide feedback to Nina Modi, email address firstname.lastname@example.org
Jill explained that the SAIT site had slowly grown and many items had been added that created a site that was unorganized and difficult to navigate. She warned all departments to go through their sites monthly or quarterly to make sure there is no redundant or out of date information and that the pages still make sense to the user and things are easy to find.
Nina presented the new feature for preparing for new employees IT needs. There is now an 'employee onboarding form' to get any new employee set up. SAIT will be working to include SAIT as part of the orientation process for new employees. Virginia asked about the process for interns and Nina said she would look into making that available also. As long as SAIT knows your needs in advance we iwll make sure whatever the needs are we will do all we can to have them ready. Several WCUG members mentioned things to be added to the form:
- Wildcat Connection
- Campus Labs
Nina showed the project request form to everyone.
SummerfestJeremy presented the Summerfest site that has been launched. He went through the Mind Meister process and showed how helpful that was in putting together this complicated site and making it concise and easy to navigate. We will be showing more features of Mind Meister in the future for Cascade users.
Hope Wallace presented the CSI site and showed the process of what she has needed to do to assess the needs of the CSI site as they are about to redo their whole site. She went through Wildcat Connection and explained the use of that. The needs of the department were not matching what as on the site and she took on re evaluating the needs of Students looking to get involved.
Virigina asked how to retire a student group and handle the process with that. Susan Cushman mentioned how interesting it was that the process to evalaute the site, forced the department to reevaluate their focus as a department.
