Registering Your Student Organization

What?

Student organizations recognized as official Northwestern student organizations by the university

Who?

Any on-campus organization comprised of Northwestern students who wishes to exist as a Northwestern student organization

When

Registration is open from May-October 1 each year. Groups who have not re-registered by October 1 of each year will no longer be recognized as Northwestern University student organizations and will not be able to function in that capacity until meeting with Hope Wallace, email: h-wallace@nortwesterne.edu, Coordinator of Student Organization Resources, in the Center for Student Involvement.

Why?

Registration provides students with access to the following privileges (students must still meet individual requirements to obtain each privilege):

  • Planning events at Norris
  • Applying  for space at NorrisUsing
  • community service vehicles
  • Reserve space via the Registrar’s Office
  • Obtain/Maintain Northwestern Events Calendar account (formally Plan-it Purple)
  • Access SOFO account
  • Reserve a table for the Fall/Winter Activities Fair
  • Publicize events on campus sidewalks, via banners, and painting the Rock
  • Access to CSI funding
  • Applying for ASG funding
  • Applying for McCormick funding

How: Re-register on Wildcat Connection EVERY YEAR

  • Login to Wildcat Connection
  • Click on “Organizations” Click on “Search” to open search bar and find your org
  • Click “Register This Organization” below your org**
  • Complete all steps including: Adding primary advisor’s name and contact information
  • Updating complete roster 
  • Uploading advisor form (PDF)
  • Designating recognizing body
  • Uploading constitution
