Tuition and fees for Undergraduates listed here are for 2008 – 09, excluding Summer Sessions and Undergraduate programs in the School of Continuing Studies. These include all Undergraduate programs in:
- Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences
- Bienen School of Music
- Kellogg School of Management
- McCormick School of Engineering
- Medill School of Journalism
- School of Communications
- School of Education and Social Policy
Increases should be expected in subsequent years.
For tuition purposes the term course refers to course credit. Some course offerings carry more than one course credit.

Accelerated tuition charge
- Charge is for courses that are taken in excess of the quarterly load (four credit units) and later used to accelerate graduation without meeting the Undergraduate Residence Requirement (URR).
- The URR specifies the number of courses students must complete and quarters they must enroll to receive a degree (For more information on the URR, see the Undergraduate Catalog or contact the Registrar's Office).
- Accelerated tuition charges are billed the last quarter of enrollment before graduation.

Employee educational assistance
- Most university faculty and staff members, along with their eligible spouses and dependant children, are eligible for reduced tuition.
- University faculty and staff members must complete the Application for Faculty and Staff Reduced Tuition and return it to the Benefits Division of Human Resources.
