Application Process

  1. Apply for financial aid

Get in touch with your financial aid office to determine the types of financial assistance that may be available to you. Follow the steps they provide to apply for financial aid. To be considered for financial aid, you will need to complete all required materials and submit any other necessary documents. Your information will then be reviewed to determine your financial aid eligibility.
  2. Accept or decline financial aid awards

After successfully completing and submitting all required materials you will receive notification from your financial aid office regarding your eligibility. You must then review the financial aid offer and accept or decline awards via CAESAR.
  3. Review your to-do list on CAESAR

Your to-do list will outline any important next steps that are required to secure your award, such as completing your federal student loan entrance counseling and promissory notes on studentloans.gov.
  4. Contact your financial aid office

If necessary, contact your financial aid office with any questions relating to your financial aid award. Your financial aid office can provide you with guidance and information regarding required materials, important dates and deadlines.

The eligibility for and types of financial aid available to international students at Northwestern varies by academic program. Contact your financial aid office to determine the financial aid options available to you.
