Teaching Training Workshop
These two workshops are designed to help the tutors develop their theoretical understanding and practical skills in relation to learning, teaching and group management within the structure of SERTS. The goal of the first workshop is to introduce tutors to the mission of SERTS, to offer guidance on structuring the information content of tutorials and guidance on how to set up a schedule for a tutorial.
The second workshop is organized by the Searle Center for Teaching Excellence The objective of the second workshop is to familiarize tutors with the basic concepts and pedagogical methods relevant to small-group facilitation, and to provide tutors with the opportunity to discuss and reflect upon their experience in a way which enhances their tutorials. In association with the workshops, tutors are encouraged to observe one another's tutorials and exchange feedback for improvement.
