The Cellular and Molecular Basis of Disease (CMBD) Training Program at Northwestern University is an interdisciplinary and cross-campus program that provides training in the cellular and molecular sciences for pre-doctoral candidates.

The Searle Center conducts evaluation on the CMBD program, examining students' mentoring experiences, research self-efficacy, research skill development, research productivity, and academic progress.
