Graduate Student Programs
OverviewSince 1995, the Searle Center for Teaching Excellence has offered programs and services to help graduate students and postdocs at all levels effectively assume their teaching responsibilities.
Participants can develop their teaching skills, practice teaching, and reflect critically on their approach to teaching and learning. Our programs emphasize:
- The value of cross-disciplinary conversations about teaching and learning
- Using active learning techniques
- Addressing diversity in many forms (educational background, socioeconomic status, international perspectives, etc.)
- Evidence-based teaching practice rooted in the scholarship of teaching and learning
