Searle Fellows Program
Overview
The Searle Fellows program is a multi-disciplinary, year-long program for early career faculty. Established in 1999, the program aims to provide faculty with the expertise and knowledge to critically assess and solve problems in their courses.
Participants design innovative approaches to teaching to advance their students' learning and to develop their own teaching practice. Fellows:
- Attend a series of events (PDF)
- Develop a teaching project (PDF) related to a course that they teach
- Work with a senior faculty mentor (PDF)
- Consult with Searle Teaching Center staff to develop their projects
Department chairs nominate the fellows for their potential to contribute to teaching and scholarship at Northwestern.
Fellows and mentors may also request grant-writing assistance from Searle staff.
