Associate Director, Graduate Programs
Nancy joined the Searle Center in 2012 with a diverse research background ranging from primate behavioral ecology to college science education. She holds a doctorate in curriculum & instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an M.S. in biological anthropology.
Nancy coordinated a large introductory biology course at UW-Madison before going back to do graduate work in curriculum studies. In addition to her interests in graduate professional development, Nancy’s research interests include: assessment of student learning, critical thinking in the STEM disciplines, and integrating the notion of scientific uncertainty into teaching about scientific data and models.
