Data In/Data Out
Northwestern Scholars not only makes use of the automated import of Scopus publications; it leverages databases and other data sources across Northwestern:
- Appointment data are imported quarterly from the larger Faculty and Staff Information System (FASIS)
- Current grants are brought in quarterly from the databases at the Office for Research (InfoEd), Lurie Children's Hospital, and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago
- Research interests and research statements have been imported from various School databases (these can be updated by the individual faculty members)
- Core facilities data are imported quarterly from the Office for Research
- Patent data come quarterly from the Innovation and New Ventures Office (INVO)
- Beginning this fall, data for Feinberg School of Medicine faculty will be synched on a weekly basis with the Feinberg Faculty Profile database.
Downloading Data
Individual Faculty Data
Data pertaining to an individual faculty member may be downloaded from his/her profile in RIS format from the Publications link on each profile (most commonly opened with EndNote).
Group Data
Data pertaining to a larger group of faculty members may be downloaded from the Northwestern Scholars Semantic Web Portal. This portal is a VIVO SPARQL Endpoint. The data are semantic web-compliant with full interoperability to the VIVO initiative. A key to these data is needed to use them with other Northwestern Enterprise data. Please contact the FASIS team for access to this key.
Bulk Downloads
Bulk downloads of the data in Northwestern Scholars are available to each of the dean's offices at Northwestern. Please contact the FASIS team for these downloads.
