Tuition Refund Plan
Northwestern offers a private insurance program, provided by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., that provides undergraduate students and families with insurance protecting against unexpected medical leaves or withdrawals. This program is voluntary and is offered as an additional resource to Northwestern families.
Northwestern’s policies regarding tuition refunds may vary based on school or program, as well as the underlying situation. Please see the links below which provide detail about Northwestern’s policies. For additional questions, please contact your program administrators:
Dewar's Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) supplements Northwestern’s published refund policies. The coverage provides a refund for any costs (tuition, room and board, and certain other fees/charges) applied to the quarter, even if Northwestern's own refund policy may not apply. The proceeds may be used to pay any educational loan, or the money may be refunded to the family directly. Full details on the insurance plan are available here: http://www.collegerefund.com/apps/coverage1.asp?Id=2775&DIV=1.
Annually, Dewar will mail descriptive brochures and applications to all undergraduate students. Applications are also available at Dewar's website, www.collegerefund.com. Questions regarding the plan should be directed to A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. at (617) 774-1555.
