Bike Storage

Northwestern's Residence Hall Hall Rules and Regulations prohibit students from storing bicycles in student rooms. A few residence halls or residential colleges offer limited indoor bike storage. Check with your CA to learn if your hall/college offers any indoor bike storage. All residential areas have ample bike racks near building entrances. Consult the University Police website for more information about bicycle safety precautions.

If possible, residents are encouraged to take their bikes home for winter quarter. Chicago winters can be very tough on bike. Limited bike storage is available to residents during the winter quarter. On a first-come, first serve basis, residents may store their bikes in a secure area managed by University Residential Life (URL). Residents may drop off their bikes during the last few days of the fall quarter and retrieve them during the first few days of the spring quarter. Bikes are stored in a basement room at Parkes Hall and are stored at one's own risk. Residents will not be able to access their bikes during the time of storage. URL will notify residents of this opportunity by posting signs and e-mail during fall quarter just before Reading Week so that residents have sufficient notice.

The specific drop-off dates for fall quarter will be available soon. It will likely be during the week before final exams.

Please contact University Residential Life if you have additional questions.
