Coloring Outside the Lines
2005 Spring Leadership Conference
Date: Saturday, April 9, 2005 . Time: 10am-5pm . Location: Harris Hall 107 & Parkes Hall
Registration starts at 9:30am at Harris Hall room 107. Donuts and juice will be provided. Please be on time, we will start the program promptly at 10am.
The following groups are required to attend the conference:
- RHA/RCB executive board
- 5 to 6 large hall government officers
- 2 to 3 small hall government officers
- 2005-2006 residential hall coordinators and senior community assistants
Presidents, please RSVP to Ellyn Golden at Residential Life, e-golden@northwestern.edu, by 5pm, Thursday, March 31st , 2005. Please include a list of members attending the conference.
Each government, please come prepared with your banner.
Banner guidelines:
- Each government will be given a standard size poster board and are being asked to decorate it and create something that represents their community.
- Be creative!
- No alcohol/drug comments or innuendos and please be respectful to every member of the community.
- You will be given your poster board when you return from spring break.
- UPDATE: The poster boards for the introductions have arrived in the Residential Life Office. Please stop by and pick one up for your hall. RCB and RHA executive boards are required to do the same. You will have to bring your finished product to the Conference. Please pay close attention to the above details of the banner guidelines. Your hall government will have to present your banner and introduce your hall in a creative manner (cheer, song, skit, etc.) Please limit these introductions to 1 minute.
- Each government will be asked to present the banner at the welcome portion of the conference and will be judged by the leadership conference committee. Winners will receive movie passes to Evanston Century 12 Cinemas for the executive board.
Student Organization Financial Office (SOFO) training will occur during the afternoon portion of the conference. This training is mandatory for presidents, treasurers and social chairs.
What to bring for the SOFO training:
- SOFO Application (enclosed, please work with your area coordinator to complete this prior to attending the conference) UPDATE: Don't worry if you don't have the answers to everything on the list. The SOFO trainers and I will help you with this on the day of the Conference;
- Ledger book,
- Constitution (if possible, please work with government and advisors to update this prior to the conference),
- List of past activities/list of anticipated activities
Lunch from Potbelly's and afternoon snacks will be provided. A raffle, with very sought-after prizes, will be held for all conference attendees.
