Assistant Master Application

Instructions

Applications must be received by the Office of Residential Colleges by 4 PM, Thursday, April 26, 2012

Electronic Application:

1. Before you begin, check that you have the following:
  • Microsoft Word 97 or later
  • Email program, e.g. AOL, Apple Mail, or Outlook, that can send attachments
  • Resume in electronic format, i.e. file saved as a Word document (*.doc).

2. Complete the application. Using the Save As command, save the application as <your_last_name>_app.doc. For example, if your name is Jane Smith, save the file as smith_app.doc.

3. Begin an email to res-colleges@northwestern.edu. In the Subject: line, write "Assistant Master Application 2012-2013."

4. Attach the application AND your resume to the email. Do not send a separate email for each attachment. Leave the body of the message blank.

5. Before you finish, check the following:
__ Did you complete the application?
__ Did you save the application as <your_last_name>_app.doc?
__ Did you save your resume as <your_last_name>_resume.doc?
__ Is the email addressed to res-colleges@northwestern.edu?
__ Did you attach the application AND your resume to the email?

6. Download application now!
If you have trouble downloading or opening the application, skip to the directions for Paper Application.

Paper Application:

Print application from your browser.  

1. Use your browser's Print function to print Part A, Part B and Part C of the application. Type or print neatly on the forms.

2. Staple your resume to the completed application and return it in the mail.  Make sure you print Part A, Part B and Part C!

3. Before you finish, check the following:
__ Did you complete both Part A and Part B of the application?
__ Did you staple your resume to the application?

4. Get paper application: 

5. If you are not able to print the application from your browser, you may request that a paper application be mailed to you.  The application will arrive in the mail 5-7 business days from the day of your request.

  • Request paper application via fax. Fax request to 847-467-2523, Attn: Nancy Anderson, Director of Residential Colleges.
  • Request paper application via phone. Call (847) 467-1362, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Central Time.
