Background Information on the Travel-Study Grant Program

The first around-the-world travel-study grant was awarded in 1971. Since then to the present, the Foundation has awarded more than 50 grants and program was expanded to involve the Chapters in Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan, Singapore, Chicago, and Washington, DC in designating the Grants. Grantee recipients, typically, have researched and assessed important topics like "The Grassroots of Nationalism," "Law of the Sea," "Urbanization in Third World Countries," "Human Rights in the World Arena," "A Study of Volunteer Agencies Fighting World Hunger," "Is the Dollar Becoming Obsolete?" to name a few. Students have gone on to accomplish careers with the U.S. State Department, international banking and business, Foreign Broadcast Information Service, communication consulting, and so forth.
