Descriptive Data on NEO Members Although over 60% of NEO members had been full professors, two out of five were serving Northwestern at other ranks when they retired. (Go to graph of members by rank.) About 46% of NEO members retired from service in the Medical School, but all the major components of the university are represented in NEO's composition. (Go to graph of members by school.) We only have data on the residence of 434 NEO members. Of these, 71% report an Illinois mailing address. The others are scattered across 31 states and two countries. (Go to graph of members by states.) One-third of NEO members living in Illinois actually live in Evanston. About as many live in adjoining suburbs or in other North Shore communities. (Go to graph of members by communities within Illinois.)
