In its ongoing pursuit of excellence Northwestern takes seriously the importance of institutional assessment. A number of university-wide initiatives exist to guide assessment objectives.

The University has reconvened the Assessment and Accreditation Council to develop a framework for the assessment of undergraduate education. 

Academic and Administrative Program Review takes place on an ongoing basis.

Northwestern is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
