• review and help to ensure that the University's goal of enhancing the role of women in the workplace will be achieved
  

• assist in the indentification of available skills and resources within the committee, the university and the general academic community to be drawn upon to aid the process of recruiting and developing women staff and faculty
  

• recommend changes in personnel procedures as areas needing improvement are identified
  

• ensure effective lines of commucations with women staff and faculty to gain their counsel and assist in creating an environment that is supportive of all employees, and especially women
