Sarah M. Brown is the Director of Northwestern University’s Office of Equal Opportunity and Access (“OEOA”). In her role as Director, Sarah oversees investigations of complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, manages the University’s reasonable accommodation process for staff and faculty, oversees development of the University’s Affirmative Action Program, develops and reviews campus policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and conducts information sessions for faculty and staff regarding the University’s discrimination and harassment policies.

Prior to joining Northwestern, Sarah practiced employment law in Chicago, and represented both employees and employers in all aspects of employment law, including preventative counseling, litigating discrimination and harassment cases, and investigating internal complaints. Sarah graduated from James Madison College at Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan.
