Administrative Coordinator, Faculty Senate

Image of Jared SpitzJared joined the Faculty Senate Office in May 2017 as Administrative Coordinator for the Faculty Senate. His primary responsibility is to implement the Faculty Senate leadership’s policies and objectives. This requires corresponding with – and having knowledge of – important University offices; supporting and contributing to all Faculty Senate standing committee meetings unless otherwise instructed by the committee chair; representing the Faculty Senate at University administrative gatherings when the Faculty Senate leadership, or any Senator, is unable to attend. Jared must also maintain a high level of awareness of higher education policies and news, and evaluate this data regularly. Administrative duties entail meeting coordination, financial oversight, calendar management, website maintenance, meeting minutes, and day-to-day communications.

Prior to administering the Faculty Senate office, Jared was the Research Assistant for the Faculty Senate for five months producing a reports on shared governance and faculty salaries, among others. In addition to working with Faculty Senate, Jared also volunteers as coordinator for the Advisory Committee on Investment Responsibility.

Jared earned an MA in Humanities from the University of Chicago. He also holds a BA in History and English and a Minor in Leadership and Public Service from the University of Missouri.
