Celina Flowers is the Assistant Provost for Faculty. In this role she oversees the implementation of policies, programs, and infrastructures that are designed to support faculty excellence at Northwestern University. She is also the office liaison for a number of University-wide committees and workgroups, and helps to coordinate institutional responses to address faculty concerns.

She joined Northwestern University in December, 2008. Since that time, Celina has held a variety of roles within the Provost’s Office, including providing administrative support to the Provost, the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and for Faculty, and back-up support for other senior leadership within central administration. During her time in the office she has staffed several search committees for senior leadership and managed faculty award and grant programs, including the Undergraduate Teaching Awards and the Nemmers Prizes. Most recently, as Director for Faculty, she expanded the programs available for faculty members across the University, with a specific emphasis on developing leadership capacity. Her work in this area supported the Initiative in Support of Faculty Excellence, the Provost’s Advisory Council for Women Faculty, and the development of a grant and award program for faculty diversity and equity initiatives.

Celina completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Illinois, and her Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and Policy from Northwestern University.
