With funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Northwestern University has established the MMUF program for promising undergraduates considering graduate study toward a Ph.D. in selected fields who possess a demonstrated commitment to eradicating racial disparities. The program is named in honor ofDr. Benjamin E. Mays, mentor and unofficial senior advisor to Martin LutherKing, Jr.
