Message from President Bienen

President Henry S. Bienen

Welcome to Northwestern University. Located on campuses in Evanston and Chicago, Illinois, Northwestern combines innovative teaching and pioneering research in a highly collaborative environment. The University provides students and faculty exceptional opportunities for intellectual, personal and professional growth in settings enhanced by the richness of Chicago.

Northwestern's Web site provides a great deal of information about the University, and I invite you to explore the site. If you'd like to see what's happening right this minute, you can view a live shot of campus via the Wildcam. Or if you're interested in upcoming events of all kinds, including theater and music performances, athletic events and many others, go to Plan-It Purple, Northwestern's online calendar of events.

The University's Web site is designed to make it easy for you to find the information you need. The quickest way is simply to use the search engine, which can be accessed in the box at the top of the top-level pages. Or if you prefer, you may browse through the Web site to find resources and activities both on and off campus.

The Academics information details the innovative curriculum offered by Northwestern's colleges and schools. If you're a prospective student, the Admissions site will provide information on admissions for undergraduate, graduate, professional and non-degree students.

You also may want to take a look at the University Library pages. Although not all of the information resources are available to visitors, those that are will give you a sample of the vast amount of material available online and in the libraries.

I encourage you to explore Northwestern online.

Henry S. Bienen
President
