Artist’s Statement:

I was trained as an artist (BFA 1982, School of the Art Institute of Chicago), but found that by sketching plants and landscapes I became interested in botanical science. 27 years later I am about to graduate with a Master of Science in Plant Biology and Conservation.

Jurors’ Comments:

"To sketch is to be free from creating a finished product, and in so doing creates greater riches."

"A beautiful display of a variety of aspects of life and evolution. The music is undulating, yet anticipative like Darwin's journey."

"Lovely studies.
