Obituary: Judy Scheer managed credit unionJudy Scheer of Chicago, who served as manager of the Northwestern employee credit union, died Feb. 15. Ms. Scheer, 69, died of cancer at the Rush North Shore Medical Center’s hospice in Skokie. A funeral mass was said at St. Margaret Mary Church in Chicago. Burial was at All-Saints Cemetery. Ms. Scheer was a member of St. Margaret Mary’s parish and sang in the church choir. Ms. Scheer, a resident of the West Ridge neighborhood, became manager of the Northwestern University Employees’ Credit Union in 1990. She retired from that position in 2004 when the credit union merged with First Northern Credit Union. Ms. Scheer had a 25-year career in credit union management, heading credit unions at Wieboldt’s Department Store in Evanston and Greyhound in Chicago. She is survived by a brother John of Maryland. |
