Dittmar Gallery art auction features lithographs, etchingsBids are being accepted via e-mail for the Dittmar Memorial Gallery’s first Silent Art Auction. Opening bids range from $20 to $50. All new bids must be made in $5 increments. All bidding will end at noon Jan. 20. Top bidders will be notified Jan. 21. Auction proceeds will benefit the Dittmar Gallery and the Norris Building Art Collection. The 15 lithographs, serigraphs and etchings featured in the Silent Art Auction are from the Norris Art Bank, which was a program in the 1970s that rented art to students and other Northwestern community members on a quarterly basis. Most of the art came from the annual Graduate Master of Fine Arts thesis shows that continue to be held every spring. All bids must be e-mailed to dittmargallery@northwestern.edu with “Silent Auction” in the subject line. To bid on a piece of artwork submit the following information: name, address, phone number, status (alumni, student, faculty, Evanston resident, etc.), the number that identifies the artwork and the amount of your bid. A Dittmar staff member will contact individuals who are outbid to give them an opportunity to increase their initial bid. Payment can be made in cash or with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express card. > For more information and to view the artwork that is being auctioned, go to http://www.norris.northwestern.edu/dittmar_auction.php |
