Obituary: Wendy Cutler, psychologistWendy R. Cutler, 49, a psychologist at Counseling and Psychological Services, died June 4 after a long illness. A service was held at Beth Emet the Free Synagogue in Evanston and interment was at Sunset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Bellevue, Wash. Ms. Cutler had served as assistant director of training and staff psychologist at CAPS since 1996. She created the first pre-doctoral internship at Northwestern, a program that was accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) after just two years, and trained 27 interns. In 2001, she received the Outstanding Contributions to the Development of the Profession award from the Division of Student Affairs. Ms. Cutler was an advocate for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students, and in 2002 she was honored for her work by the Northwestern University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Support Network with its “Above and Beyond Award.” |
