Upcoming eventsBrown bags on healthcareNUSAC will hold its spring quarter Brown Bag Sessions on the possible changes to the University healthcare plans. Guy Miller, associate vice president of human resources, will discuss how the University is approaching the rising cost of healthcare. Miller will give an overview of the University’s strategy and the possible changes to the healthcare options that could be implemented as early as January 2007. Two sessions will be held: noon to 1:30 p.m. May 17 in the Ohio State Room at Norris University Center, Evanston, and from noon to 1:30 p.m. May 24 at the Kellogg School of Management, Room 347, 340 E. Superior St., Chicago. New Yorker editor, Newsweek’s Alter round out series The New Yorker magazine editor David Remnick and Newsweek senior editor Jonathan Alter will wrap up the 2005-06 Crain Lecture Series when they give talks today (May 11) and Monday, June 5, respectively, at Northwestern. The free and public lectures will take place at 4 p.m. in the McCormick Tribune Center Forum. Remnick, editor of The New Yorker for almost two decades, will participate in “A Conversation on Reporting: Writings from The New Yorker.” Newsweek’s Alter has written the magazine’s “Between the Lines” column since 1991, examining politics, media and society at large. |
