News briefsHRIS system upgradedIndividuals who use HRIS Self Service and eRecruit (Northwestern’s electronic recruiting system) now have access to the newly upgraded HRIS 8.9 system that features the latest version of PeopleSoft. Internal applicants applying for a University job should be aware that the system will look different when they sign in this week, said Kathy Tessendorf, director of Human Resources Information Systems. Internal applicants will access HRIS Self Service to apply for a University job at: http://nuhr.northwestern.edu. Within HRIS Self Service, under the “Recruiting/Job Openings” folder, applicants should click the “Apply for Jobs” link to search and apply for a Northwestern University job. This link will also take employees to online paycheck, benefit summary, direct deposit, effort reporting and conflict of interest. Information on getting started in the newly upgraded system, application quicksheet, applicant FAQ and troubleshooting FAQ can be found at www.northwestern.edu/hr/jobs/applicationhelp.html. Miller has joined Human Resources as manager of compensation. Miller has served as compensation manager at Trans Union LLC and CCH Inc., and as compensation and benefits manager at Rockwell International, Electronic Commerce Division. Prior to those positions, he served as compensation and benefits manager and director of Human Resources at A. B. Dick Co. in Niles and in the same roles at Zenith Data Systems in Buffalo Grove. He also did compensation work at NEC Technologies Inc., and W. W. Grainger Inc. Miller is recognized as a Certified Compensation Professional and holds a certificate as a Senior Professional from the Society for Human Resource Management, the national association for Human Resources. |
