The $7 billion manKenneth Feinberg, Special Master of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, talks to an audience at the Law School for the Pope & John Lecture on professionalism. Feinberg, appointed by the U.S. Attorney General shortly after September 11, was charged with administering the government fund to disburse approximately $7 billion to compensate people who lost loved ones or were hurt during the terror attacks. During his talk, he described the background of the fund, the many problems he and his staff confronted in assigning dollar values to people’s economic and non-economic loss, as well as the interplay of professionalism in managing this controversial program. |
