A visit with Meryl Streep

On May 23, the School of Communication presented actress Meryl Streep as the 2005 Hope Abelson Visiting Artist. During a Q&A led by professors Cindy Gold and Frank Galati, Streep shared her thoughts on acting technique, the draw of the theatre and the different directors with whom she has worked. In response to a question on how she chooses screenplays, she said: “A good one is easy to recognize. I feel my heart quicken, and I say ‘I know this person.’”
