NUTV service adds mtvU“Basic” and “Expanded” NUTV service has been expanded with the addition of mtvU, it was announced by Information Technology IT and Student Affairs. The addition of mtvU, in partnership with VideoFurnace and MTV, marks the introduction of programming dedicated to every aspect of university life for students — from music, to news, to general student life issues and activities. Currently, mtvU broadcasts to more than 700 campuses and more than 6 million students across the country, making it the largest television network devoted to university students. “Northwestern’s partnership with MTV has enabled mtvU content to be provided to the University free of charge,” said Garth Miller, director of housing and food service. “It’s great to be able to provide students with programming they have requested and to do so in a way that benefits and enhances what the University has to offer.” NUTV is Northwestern’s innovative system of delivering expanded television options via the University network. “The University’s desire to continually evaluate and add quality content to NUTV service is at the heart of introducing mtvU,” said Wendy Woodward, director of Technology Support Services. NUTV service is available across the on-campus community on multicast-enabled, switched network connections. Users looking to watch mtvU through “Basic NUTV” or “Expanded NUTV” can go to www.northwestern.edu/nutv. |
