Can't get to the gym? Take a virtual lap on the trackThe Department of Athletics and Recreation has re-launched its web site to offer users clearer and more consistent navigation and easier access to key information. Among the enhanced functions are easy-to-access forms and schedules and virtual tours of recreation facilities like Blomquist Recreation Center and the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion. Located at www.fitrec.northwestern.edu/, the home page now provides up-to-date information regarding department news, activities and events. The new format provides users a look at a variety of schedule information organized by facility. In addition to at-a-glance quarterly building hours, a weekly schedule of both facility closings and events is also posted. Users who want notification of schedule updates, such as facility closings, class cancellations, additions or other such changes, may choose to subscribe to particular schedules. With weekly event schedules now available for each facility, users can check to see what specific activities or events are taking place at various times throughout the week. Another added feature, forms for membership, registration and purchases can be completed online or printed. Questions and wider searches are addressed through the Ask NU search feature. It enables users to type a question, click the ask button and review answers. |
