'Six Strategies for Financial Success' among workshopsFaculty and staff will have opportunities to achieve a healthy balance between work and personal commitments during the Spring 2005 Work/Life Educational Series and Financial Planning Workshops April 4-May 25. The “Six Strategies for Financial Success” workshop, will focus on the management of cash and risk along with tax, investment, retirement and estate strategies. Noon to 1:30 p.m. May 11, Abbott Hall, and noon to 1:30 p.m. May 18, Norris Center, Ohio State Room. Lunch will be provided. “Developing an Investment Strategy with TIAA-CREF” is geared for those who want to take control of the allocation of their retirement plan assets and align them with their investment philosophy and tolerance for risk. Noon April 4, Ohio State Room, and noon April 5, Abbott Hall, Room 850. Anyone considering retiring this year is encouraged to attend the “Steps to Take When Retiring from Northwestern” workshop. Noon April 21, Abbott Hall, and noon May 11, Ohio State Room. Representatives from Fidelity Investments and TIAA-CREF are available to meet with faculty and staff to answer specific questions. Sessions are 45 minutes each. Appointments may be scheduled by contacting TIAA-CREF at (312) 345-5651 and Fidelity Investments at (800) 642-7131. The professional and development workshops will help individuals develop skills and learn processes they need to perform their work more effectively. Fees range from $55 to $105 per workshop. Work/Life Balance workshops will provide information on the “Psychological Aspects of Retirement” and “Evolving Relationships of Mothers and Adult Daughters.” “Exercise on the Road” and “Is There a ‘Best’ Strength Workout?” are sessions focusing on personal health. Group Fitness classes are offered on mind/body and cardiovascular/strength. Henry Crown Sports Pavilion and Dellora A. and Lester J. Norris Aquatic Center.
