Eight named to board

Eight distinguished business and civic leaders were elected to the Northwestern University Board of Trustees at the June board meeting. They are:

Mark A. Angelson, Chief Executive Officer, RR Donnelley & Sons.

D. Cameron Findlay, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Aon Corp.

T. Bondurant French, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, Adams Street Partners.

Lawrence Levy, Founder and Chairman, Levy Restaurants.

J.B. Pritzker, Chairman, the Pritzker Group, and CEO, AmSafe Partners.

Henry B. Reiling, Eli Goldston Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School.

Alexander Rorke, Managing Director, UBS Financial Services.

Sona Wang, General Partner, Inroads Capital Partners.

Mark A. Angelson became CEO of RR Donnelley upon the combination of Moore Wallace and RR Donnelley. He was Chief Executive Officer of Moore Wallace Inc. and was the principal architect of the merger between Moore Corporation Limited and Wallace Computer Services, Inc. Prior to joining Moore as CEO, Angelson served as Moore’s non-executive Chairman and Lead Independent Director.

Prior to joining Aon, D. Cameron Findlay joined the U.S. Labor Department in June 2001, following his nomination by President George W. Bush and unanimous confirmation by the U.S. Senate. He was the No. 2 official and Chief Operating Officer of the Labor Department. Before joining the Labor Department, Findlay was a partner at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood.

T. Bondurant French has been with Adams Street Partners and its predecessor organization, Brinson Partners, since 1980 and has been instrumental in the development of its private equity investment strategies, fund management and client service. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Lawrence Levy was awarded the Alumni Award in 1982, the Kellogg School’s Shaffner Award in 2003, and was honored by the creation of an annual student enterprise, which funds The Larry Levy Entrepre-neur Scholarships. He and his wife also founded the Levy Institute of Entrepreneurial Practice at Kellogg.

J.B. Pritzker is Chairman of The Pritzker Group and CEO of AmSafe Partners, a leading provider of aviation passenger and cargo restraints. In addition, he is a founder and partner of New World Ventures in 1996, one of Chicago’s largest early-stage technology fund managers. Pritzker has been an active proponent of a stronger technology base in the Midwest region.

Henry B. Reiling joined the Harvard Business School faculty as a professor in 1976. His research interests focus on the interface of law, finance and accounting. His articles have appeared in the Harvard Business Review, the Journal of Accountancy, Michigan Law Review and other journals. 

Alexander Rorke is Managing Director of UBS Financial Services Inc. UBS Financial Services was formed when Swiss banking corporation UBS AG merged with Paine Webber Inc. in 2000. UBS Financial Services is the operating subsidiary of the Wealth Management USA unit of UBS. The firm provides private clients with financial planning and investment services.

Sona Wang is a general partner with Inroads Capital Partners, an Evanston-based venture capital firm that targets investments to women business owners and entrepreneurs from other under-represented groups.

Six trustees have been named Life Trustees in recognition of their service. They are: Philip M. Condit, W. James Farrell, Harry M. Jansen Kraemer, Alan M. Leventhal, William D. Smithburg and Judith A. Sprieser.
