Recycle old computers

University Services is offering a Computer and Peripherals Recycling Program,  a free service to help Northwestern meet the Environmental Protection Agency  regulations for computer equipment disposal.

University Services will pick up any University computer, in working condition or not, as well as monitors, keyboards, speakers, mouse devices, printers and scanners. All data will be removed and the computers and peripherals will be disposed of at no charge.

CPS director discusses homeland security

Center for Public Safety Director Alexander Weiss will will speak at a seminar on the role of state and local government in homeland security. Sponsored by the Office of Strategic Initiatives, the seminar is scheduled for 4 p.m. Dec. 14 at Chambers Hall, Evanston.

Childcare still available

There are still several spaces available at the new Chicago campus KinderCare, which opens in January.

Northwestern is offering need-based fee assistance to eligible faculty and staff.

Interested families can contact the center director at (312) 867-7056 or visit the office weekdays at 446 E. Ontario, suite 150.

The center is located at 446-448 E. Ontario, just two blocks south of Abbott Hall, and serves children from six weeks to five years of age.

Spaces and funds will be awarded in the order in which they are received and according to priority enrollment status.

Food drive runs through Dec. 20

The Department of Athletics and Recreation is holding its annual canned food drive through Dec. 20. For each non-perishable food item brought to the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion, individuals will receive a chance to win raffle prizes. All proceeds will be given to the Evanston Family Focus and the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Faculty/staff appreciation night at Welsh-Ryan Arena

Faculty and staff can purchase $8 tickets to the men’s basketball game vs. DePaul at 8 p.m. Dec. 15.
