Radio broadcasts; Hear ‘Music from Northwestern’ on WFMT

School of Music faculty, ensembles, alumni and guests featured in performance, conversation

WFMT (98.7 FM) has launched a weekly 10-part radio series showcasing School of Music faculty, ensembles, distinguished alumni and guest artists in performance and conversation.

Each hour-long “Music From Northwestern” broadcast will feature commercial or archival recordings from Northwestern music venues or from various performance halls around the world.

The broadcast series is hosted by WFMT program host Kerry Frumkin.

Each program will have a different theme and feature various School of Music faculty members and performances related to that theme,” said Richard Van Kleeck, Northwestern’s director of concert activities and co-producer of the radio series with Jan Weller, WFMT-FM’s production coordinator and program host.

The schedule of upcoming WFMT programs follows:

Oct. 10, Orchestra Program; Oct. 17, Choral Program; Oct. 24, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band; Oct. 31, Student Instrumental Performances; Nov. 7, Vocal and Opera Program; Nov. 14, Jazz Program; Nov. 21, Faculty Composers and Nemmers Prize Winner; Nov. 28, Faculty Performance Highlights; and Dec. 5, Finale — “Winter Chamber Musical Festival” and “Rite of Strings” highlights.
