New IT Web site; The one-stop for technology needs

Planning to connect your laptop to the University’s high-speed wireless network? Looking to update your virus protection software? Interested in reserving one of the University’s Smart Classrooms? If your question is technology related, visit the new Information Technology Web site at www.it.northwestern.edu/.

In partnership with University Relations Web Communications, IT launched its new site this summer, offering the University community a professional and unified IT design, customer-oriented organization of technology support and services, a centralized location for technology support contacts under “NUIT Help”, up-to-date news and events, and easier navigation for smart, productive browsing.

The site features a broad range of information that is geared toward helping the Northwestern community be more productive with their use of technology. From using software and telephone services to establishing a network connection and following the popular “5 Simple Steps” for computer security, the IT site offers a one-stop-shop for University technology needs. New sections, such as the mobile phone page that includes information on the next-generation of “smartphones,” offer the University community advice on the best use of technology at Northwestern.

In addition to an improved, more professional look and feel, the new site also showcases structural improvements. It combines information from the many branches of IT into one site, offering a more user-friendly experience.
