New center focuses on Parkinson’s Disease

Northwestern has received a $5.5 million award from the National Institute for Neurological Diseases and Stroke to establish a Morris K. Udall Center of Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease Research.

Peter G. Peterson (right) talks with President Henry S. Bienen during his Oct. 15 visit to speak to faculty, staff and students at the Kellogg School of Manage-ment. Peterson, chairman and co-founder of The Blackstone Group and U.S. Secretary of Commerce during the Nixon Administration, spoke about corporate governance. Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Peterson is also chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations; founding chairman of the Institute for International Economics; and founding president of the Concord Coalition. Peterson was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree by Northwestern in 1980.
