Make directory updates online

Updates to the 2003-04 Directory will be made available online through a self-service feature of HRIS.

All faculty and staff with a University NetID and password are now asked to update, via a Web site, what they would like displayed in the Directory.

In past years, employees received a paper verification form to make updates for the printed Faculty/Staff/Student Directory. The on-line form will replace the paper form used to reflect changes to employees’ address, phone number(s), job locations, etc.

Changes can be made until Oct. 26.

Employees with questions about their NetID can call (847) 491-HELP (4357) or visit http://snap.it.northwestern.edu/.

For security purposes the self-service pages must be accessed from an on campus computer or from an off campus computer using VPN (Virtual Private Networking) software.

For information about how to set up and install the VPN software go to www.tss.northwestern.edu/vpn/. For additional technical assistance with installing the VPN software contact consultant@northwestern.edu or (847) 491-HELP (4357).

Those without reliable access to a computer can access the self-service pages from a IT public computer lab. Information about the labs can be found at www.at.northwestern.edu/ctg/labs/.

Unpaid faculty, emeritus faculty and retirees who may access the self-service pages from an off campus location should make sure they have a reliable internet connection and VPN software installed and functioning on their off campus computer.

HRIS current users should continue to use their current HRIS ID and password for departmental lookup/updates.

They should use their NetID and password to update their self-service directory information.
