Great Debate is May 19Whether or not Northwestern should pay attention to matters of race in its admissions process will be the subject of the University’s quarterly Great Debate May 19. The debate, free and open to the public, will take place at 7 p.m. in Norris University Center’s McCormick Auditorium. Associate Provost Rebecca Dixon will argue that the University should pay attention to matters of race in selecting students from its pool of applicants. Stephen Presser, Raoul Berger Professor at the School of Law, will lead the debate team arguing that the University should ignore issues of race when selecting its students. Presser and Dixon each will be joined by two undergraduates from the debate team. |
