New street signs

Facilities Management has posted new address signs on or near buildings with new addresses. The Evanston campus now has three new streets and new addresses for approximately 35 buildings.

The changes stem from the installation of an enhanced 911 system on the Evanston campus, which will allow police, fire and emergency response crews to pinpoint campus locations more quickly and accurately. Many buildings that previously had a Sheridan Road address now have a Campus Drive address and there no longer are North Campus Drive and South Campus Drive sections of that street. Instead, all buildings along it carry Campus Drive addresses that tie in better into the system of addresses for Evanston. The two other new streets are Arts Circle Drive, which serves as the new street address for six buildings on the south end of campus, and Tech Drive, which is the home of four buildings near the Technological Institute. The new addresses, which took effect Sept. 2, are reflected in the interactive campus map available on Northwestern’s Web site at http://aquavite.northwestern.edu/maps. Printed maps in the phone directory and other publications will be updated as those pieces are reprinted.
