Employee Reward and Recognition Enhancements

NUSAC worked with Human Resources Learning & Organization Development to enhance the awards that are available for staff. As a result of our efforts, there have been enhancements to the Service Excellence and Employee of the Year Awards that went into effect in 2007.

	Employee of the Year Enhancements
		Winners now receive either a $2,000 savings bond or $1,000 in cash (taxable)- plus, plaque, flowers, photograph with President and Senior Vice President
		Finalists now receive either a $500 savings bond or $300 in cash (taxable)- plus, plaque, flowers, photograph with President and Senior-Vice President

Service Excellence Enhancements

1st award of year= certificate, lapel pin, mug
2nd award of year= certificate and deluxe writing pad
3rd award of year= certificate and fleece jacket
4th award of year=certificate and briefcase/carrying bag
5th award of year=certificate and $100 gift certificate from a store or restaurant of the honoree’s choice

(all include lunch with the university president and senior vice-president)

Employee of the Year

Each year, one employee is chosen from each campus for this award. This award is given to a nominee who goes above and beyond other employees in commitment and service to the Unviersity. The employee of the year nomination form can be found on the Human Resources Learning & Organization Development web site.

Length of Service Awards

Many university employees have spent their careers here at Northwestern, serving 20 years or more. Each year they are publicly honored for their length of service at an annual luncehoen with the university president and senior vice-president, as well as their departmental colleagues.

Service Excellence Awards

Often times staff members go above and beyond the call of duty to complete a task or meet a goal. For these times, there is the Service Excellence Award. Any member of the University community may nominate an employee for the award and it is possible to be nominated more than once. Each year, all service excellence awards nominees are invited to attend a luncheon in honor of their outstanding service to the Northwestern community.
