1,946 pounds of food was wasted last week during lunch or an average of 0.15 pounds per person. This equals: 1,946 meals that Campus Kitchens could have served to Evanston residents that are in need or almost 2.5 times more than they currently serve. If on average 0.15 pounds per person of food is wasted per meal period everyday for the academic year, that would equal 177,131 pounds of food per academic year. This would be enough food for Campus Kitchens to serve 6 times more than they currently serve! Visit www.campuskitchens.org for more information on Campus Kitchens.
